La Sinfonie Bohémienne is a direct descendant of the Imperial Wind Band of Joseph II.

An ensemble of variable size, La Sinfonie Bohémienne modulates to suit the original requirements and specific formations of works to be performed.
Artists are brought together specially for each programme. They perform on historical instruments or on faithfully recreated facsimiles, some of which are created to Gilles Thomé’s directives in the atelier of La Sinfonie Bohémienne.
The idea is to achieve, in each concert, the best possible balance between composers, performers and instrument-makers.

Artists in the ensemble centre around a faithful few, some of whom are:

  1. Raphaël Vuillard, clarinet
  2. Pierre-Yves Madeuf, horn
  3. Philippe Bord, horn
  4. Gabriel Vernhès, bassoon
  5. Emmanuel Vigneron, bassoon, contrabassoon
